INTERESTING MUSIC APPS FOR SINGERS AND SONGWRITERS

I love little gadgets that foster creativity and art. Over time, I’ve accumulated around 25 music-related apps on my smartphone. But with limited storage space, minimalism can be beneficial. So, I’ve tested which apps are truly valuable. Besides apps for notes and voice memos, which I regularly use, I find a metronome indispensable (e.g., ProMetronome). Especially for singers, I’ve discovered some gems: Singscope: A tool that visualizes the tones you sing in real-time – perfect for your vocal discovery journey. Virtuoso: A mini piano that shows the notes you play. Interval ET: An app that plays note sequences on the piano for you to guess – ideal for ear training. Chord Al: Sing something and see the corresponding notes and chords for guitar and piano – great for improvising and songwriting. Practical apps that suggest chord progressions or allow experimenting with different instruments include Autochords, Chords Gen, and Harmony Improviser. If you ever need to rest your voice, the Text to Speech app could be helpful, reading texts aloud for you. You’re probably familiar with GarageBand – it offers excellent opportunities for music production directly on your phone. Look up “Garage Band produced songs” online and you’ll be amazed to discover how many songs have been created with it. Another noteworthy app is Writr, which shows you rhymes and similar-sounding words to improve your lyrics. These are my personal favorites, tested without any vendor support (disclaimer). A powerful power bank could also help – but I would never leave the house with less than 85% battery 😀 . How about you? Have you ever tried music apps, or do you already use some? I look forward to hearing from you.

PS. Do you also like music so much? Browse through the gift idea collections “SONGS IN PROGRESS”, or “CREATIVITY IS MY SUPERPOWER”, by clicking on the titles. There are also matching greeting cards that you can print out yourself. Click here for the free download. Music is a lifestyle!
